~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~summer break~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Remind me why I agreed to come with you,” Hiei grumbled from his perch in a treetop. Currently, he and Kurama were standing outside of Tokyo Prep, waiting for the final bell of the school year to ring and free their girlfriends. Yusuke and Kuwabara had managed to weasel their way out of the task, leaving the males to themselves.
Kurama chuckled at his friend’s annoyance. “Because you wanted to pick the girls up as much as I did. Besides, they said they had a surprise for us,” he reminded the demon. The school bell interrupted their conversation, making the two demons look towards the school doors.
Not a second later the doors flew open as students began pouring out of the school, rushing towards waiting parents or family servants that had come to get them for the summer holidays. Rei and Rayna were among the first to emerge, and soon located their friends in the crowd. With wide smiles, they rushed towards the two demons. “Kurama!” Rei screamed.
GLOMP
Meanwhile, Rayna walked over to the tree and stared up at Hiei, hands on her hips. “Pillow-kun, get down here!”
“No.”
Tears filled Rayna’s eyes. “Oh, I get it. Pillow-kun doesn’t love me anymore! WAAAAAAAHH!” she sobbed.
Hiei sighed in resignation and leapt down to stand beside his lover. “There. Happy?”
“Yay!”
GLOMP
“Rayna,” Hiei began, desperately trying to remain calm, “what’s this surprise you told us about?”
“Oh yeah!” Rayna quickly leapt to her feet, a wide smile on her face. “Rei and I worked really hard on this! Ready Rei?”
“Yup,” the hippie replied, eyes now glued to her watch. “In 3, 2, 1-“
BOOOOOOOM
Kurama and Hiei stared with wide eyes as the roof was blown off the school. “Rei, Rayna, tell me you two didn’t do that,” Kurama finally got out.
“That would be lying, man.”
“We also set the kitchen on fire,” Rayna cheerfully added.
“In that case, we’d better get going,” Hiei stated as he began dragging the girls away amidst the crowd’s confusion and panic.
“So what are the plans for the summer?” Kurama inquired once they were a safe distance from the school.
“The hippies are going on a migration of self-discovery,” Rei said. “It’s going to be a brownie filled blast.”
“And I’m going to 12 cons in 4 weeks!” Rayna cheerfully added.
“And you’re coming with us!” the girls declared, happily laughing as they ran ahead of the confused males.
“…You know, the sad thing is, I’m willing to go with her,” Hiei finally stated.
“Same here,” Kurama admitted.
The males let out twin sighs of exasperation. “C’est la vie.”
No,” Kurama said as he smiled ahead at the two cheerful girls. “C’est amour.”
